Aptos Safeway Personal Boycott if they go Mega Store

I have stopped shopping at the Aptos Safeway. One they are not friendly in there. I saw one of the clerks thank a manager 3 times and the woman manager with brown hair. Did not make eye contact and did not acknowledge that the woman even said anything to her. No wonder why they treat us like they get treated. They have a Yelp rating of a about 2.1 which tells you what others already know. They want to add 18 gas pumps to the corner and add a concrete two story parking garage that will only add 40 new spots. If you go into the parking area you can only access the Safeway store. They will take out all the stores past Aptos Shoes which include Mr. Lee's 31 Flavors and the Aptos Theaters...

Interested in having a say or finding out what can be done. Check Save Aptos website. A bunch of us who want to see a well thought out plan that is not a huge concrete block, added stop light and 18 gas pumps that all the Safeway stores will give discounts to but is the only gas station in town. Jim Ales and Candace Hathaway (Community Affairs rep for PDC) toured new Safeway sites in Burlingame and Los Altos on Friday. Like Aptos, both sites faced major community opposition. Both are site specific shopping center developments. How much input and influence did the community have on the final designs? Have they been favorably received? What is the tenant mix? What support did Safeway receive from city and county representatives? These questions and more will be discussed. Jim will share more info and photos at the meeting. Hope to see you at the meeting.
