Oregon Games Slalom Results Salem on Bush Hill

John Ravitch wins a bronze in the masters division. Fun racing day. Hate it when I race faster after qualifying. Today is the 100 cone event that I enjoy so hope to do better than second place in the C group.

Lance Armstrong is back, I say he never left.

Why not. Never too old to not go for it. Who's to say he shouldn't. I think he would of won this year. I had the Lance Shrine at Giro with memento's from races from the past and present. I worked on all Giro's printed materials for 7 1/2 years. I enjoyed each tour year and would get images directly of each stage, every morning to sort and pick to see which one would make the next cover or poster. I of course would always want it to be Lance. The day Lance came to Santa Cruz and over by my work space, he stood politely staring at my assorted Lance stuff given to me from bike sponsors, things I picked up on ebay and a few cool Oakley items from Blick, my killer Oakley connection. I had just got a ten dollar laminated black and white Nike piece of a shot of Lance with no shirt. I had him sign that since it was right next to him. My kids got to meet him. My eldest bares Armstrong as his middle name for his strength and determination.

I'm 48 and just bested my cyber slalom skateboard times, my 50 cone and 100 cone times, at last weekends World Record Attempts three days ago. I hope to be doing front side grinds at my 50 Th Birthday party. Sally Edwards is running endurance marathons and she's in her 60's.

Ignore the negnoids. Life is short. Go for it.

Unofficial World Record Nor Cal Results

Contest Date: September 7, 2008
Contest Location: Santa Cruz Levee and San Jose
Results: 25, 50 (Santa Cruz) and 100 (San Jose)

Sanction: PRIME
Contest Director: Judi Oyama

We had great weather in Santa Cruz with very subtle winds. The police came by three times and were very nice. The third one we had to go so we only got results in one direction on the 50.

Huge thank you to Jonny and girls for all the help. Timers, Ramps...love

And a big Thank You to Dan from Tactis sk8 shop for the lunch. Dan sponsored burritos, tacos and tons of great support.

Thank you Drew, Jackson (Miko's son), Marcus for helping keep times. Everyone for putting up with me directing and shouting to move off the path for bikers. I didn't want to get shut down earlier. I know bikers and they do not like to move over.

Thank you to the Santa Cruz Police for putting up with us and all the walkers and joggers.

US Nationals run with Wentzle in Morro Bay

Wally thanks for the image disc. Nice surprise to see some shots from the masters races.
See what happens when you let the creative director get her way with her own image. Trouble I tell you trouble.

Gorge Games Results Giant Slalom

This year I choose not to race the GS and focus on the Hybrid and Tight. Qualifying is today and the finals are on Sunday.
The GS is a fun event but after having a close friend Drew Lundsford crash hard last year I decided it wasn't that important for me anymore.

Congrats to Kevin Delaney for placing second in the Open class on my Roe Racing red board. Custom built by Stryker and Corey Moy.

Slalom Events - The Gorge Games is proud to present the North American Slalom Skateboard Championships in 2008. According to the ISSA, this event is expected to have the highest race-ranked status and will be the largest slalom event in the country. Racers will receive higher points for racing in this event than other races in the country, a fair number of international racers are expected to be in attendance. The Hood River races are the longest consecutively running slalom events in the country, if not the world. The Super Giant Slalom will be held in Mosier Tunnels on the Old Scenic Highway. The Championship Title will be comprised of all 3 events, so get out there and shred it!
