Skateboarding Hall of Fame first woman Inductee

Skateboarding Hall of Skate inductees.

Big congrats to Patti McGee. It would of been nice if the women had more categories like the men's did last year. From the 1960's, 70's, 80's. 90's and 2000 it wasn't quite even but I guess one is better than none. Some things never change. They didn't list skaters like Cara-Beth, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins, Elissa Steamer, Amy Caron, Vanessa Torres and a host of others that should of been listed like some of the younger skaters on the men's side.

I should just be happy we got one woman in. That is the most important thing. I don't want to take away from that. It is truly a great thing. So many skaters that pushed the sport like Cindi Whitehead, Leilani, Terri Lawrence, Terry Brown, Peggi Oki, Kim Cespedes, Laura Thornhill, Robin Logan, Ellen Oneal, Ellen Berryman, Jana Payne, Karrie Cooper and now the next generation.

Six skateboarders have been announced as new inductees into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame. The honored skateboarders are Torger Johnson, Stacy Peralta, Steve Caballero, Eric Koston, Bob Burnquist and Patti McGee. McGee is the Hall of Fame's first female inductee.

The first skaters welcomed into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame, in October 2009, were Bruce Logan, Tony Alva, Tony Hawk and Danny Way. This year marks the second annual induction, which is put on by the International Association of Skateboarding Companies and Skatelab.
