Socksmith rain shoot in the books

Two day shoot in Monterey was a success even with the worst down pour in years. We were committed from dates set months ago. Location scouted mostly outdoor locations with a few restaurants, coffee shop, wine bars, beach spots, neighborhoods. Photo shoot with photographer Jay Watson assistant Nils Carlson and usual suspects. Socksmith and Legs Santa Cruz models/graphic artists/employee's. Steve from Metastyle Films and Daniel from Santa Cruz Aerials if the weather was better we would of gotten some great overhead video and shots of the Brew Crew with Annie at the helm.

Big thank you to Renée owner of the Driftwood Store and Fern Design Studio in Moss Landing. I wanted to shoot in her store but knew it was closed on Tuesday. Never knew she owned the graphic design studio next door. We were able to shoot in both locations. Thanks Cameron too.

Lunch at the Moss Landing fruit stand which I have driven by for years but never had been inside. We had an amazing lunch and were going to shoot inside but needed to head down to our other locations. Thanks to the owners and managers for being so generous.

East Village Coffee Lounge was another perfect locally owned location. Thank you Erin and crew for letting us shoot. The coffee and food was a plus to have while working inside. Website in production here is their Facebook Link.

Thank you to Paul, James and crew at the Cannery Row Brewery. Another great fine and amazing lunch. The taps were impressive and perfect for one of the new beer related sock designs for 2015. Can't wait to share the photos but that won't be for a while since the catalog is in the works for the buyers of retail stores and then once the socks ship the images will appear on the Socksmith Website and other social media spots. On and the video will be amazing.

First time sponsoring skateboarders skating for a good cause

Thank you to the Socksmith for giving me a killer deal on socks for two skateboard causes. I picked up some Socksmith socks and some Down HWY 1 socks yesterday afternoon. One group is already on the road. I spoke to them two days ago after seeing an Santa Cruz Sentinel article about their trek. I contacted NHS and they are going to give them Road Rider Wheels the wheels they are actually using. They come to town late Monday and I plan on giving them socks and wheels. I hope some bearings too. The other group is lead by a friend of mind Jack Smith. He is skating across america for the forth time.

In October of 2012 Jack Smith's father, and Dylan's grandfather, Jack Smith, passed away due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease. We are making this push in his honor and to raise awareness and $100,000 to help fund care, support and research in the fight against Alzheimer's.  

On July 4th, 2013, our five person team,  ranging in age from 20 to 56 will come together to push our skateboards 3,000 miles from Newport, Oregon to New York City, New York in a little over three weeks. Email the team atinfo@apushtoremember.com
