Lance Armstrong is back, I say he never left.

Why not. Never too old to not go for it. Who's to say he shouldn't. I think he would of won this year. I had the Lance Shrine at Giro with memento's from races from the past and present. I worked on all Giro's printed materials for 7 1/2 years. I enjoyed each tour year and would get images directly of each stage, every morning to sort and pick to see which one would make the next cover or poster. I of course would always want it to be Lance. The day Lance came to Santa Cruz and over by my work space, he stood politely staring at my assorted Lance stuff given to me from bike sponsors, things I picked up on ebay and a few cool Oakley items from Blick, my killer Oakley connection. I had just got a ten dollar laminated black and white Nike piece of a shot of Lance with no shirt. I had him sign that since it was right next to him. My kids got to meet him. My eldest bares Armstrong as his middle name for his strength and determination.

I'm 48 and just bested my cyber slalom skateboard times, my 50 cone and 100 cone times, at last weekends World Record Attempts three days ago. I hope to be doing front side grinds at my 50 Th Birthday party. Sally Edwards is running endurance marathons and she's in her 60's.

Ignore the negnoids. Life is short. Go for it.

Working on the World Slalom Records Documentation

50 cone start John Ravitch

100 Cone dry heat

Overall Winner for NorCal out of retirement for the day like Lance!

When you start your day in the am you have time to bake a pumpkin pie and make a crock pot dish to cook all day so dinner will be ready when we get home. Work on documentation of the Worlds event, download and reduce file size of photos taken at Sunday's event. The simple life of a working mom that likes to skateboard race for the hell of it. Cause she still can.

US Nationals Results from yesterday's racing

Raced the men's in the masters and gave them a run for there money. Super fun. As usual the 5 time women's world champion won both women's events but I was able to give her a run for her money so to speak. Next weekend is the Gorge Games in Hood River. Should be fun and fast.

Race Horse Rescue Interworld

I rescued a horse named Interworld off the San Mateo Race Track back in 1995. Interworld was a beautiful Thoroughbred race horse that was injured from racing and one of the four owners did not want to see him continue to run. The owner was a kind family man and his kids loved the horse. I told him I would take him if he would pay half the vet bills for the first six month and he did. They had paid over $35,000 for him. The other partners that owned the horse wanted to take him to Denver and run him into the ground. Meaning until he broke down and had to be put down. Interworld got to be a normal horse and was a great trail horse. After he was healed and sound I ended up giving him to a good friend and he lived only a year and a half after his rescue due to leg problems from racing and had to eventually be put down. I hadn't really thought of him until the story of Eight Belles a few weeks ago.

2007 Slalom Skateboard World Championships

Got back from worlds. I missed my flight bag check in by 10 minutes (5:20 am) so I had to fly to Miami-LA and then to San Jose to get home. It took 5 hours longer but was glad to come home on Monday. The flights were so close together she double booked me just in case I missed my flights, but I made each one just in time and picked my kids up from school. Back to reality, dinner, homework, laundry...
Thanks to the DHB crew for a great time. They put on an amazing event. Marion thanks for four days of great skating fun. I know you guys worked long hours months prior and during the event. I placed second overall against Lynn Kramer the 5x world champion which was quite an honor. I tried to give her a run for her money. She is FAST! I placed second in the hybrid and tight a third in the giant slalom. Watching young Ella was a treat. She is the future for the women's as well as Laura, Julie and Sarah. The youth needs to keep the sport moving forward. Cat and Julie did great as well. Three days of slalom racing fun. The open class group was fast as usual. It's great to see Martin, Joe and Zach blaze the hill as well as veterans like Jackman! The pro events rocked as well. Fast and clean was key.

Thanks to everyone that came up to me and gave me great words of encouragement and kudos. For the past few years I've been on the fence about retiring. As I said as long as I'm having fun I'm not going to stop. I've seen lots of change for the better, new board technology, trucks, wheels, great hills and courses. And most of all the people make it really happen the old friends and new friends. Thanks!
Big thank you to Gareth of RoeRacing and Henry Hester for getting me back into this sport after two decades. I never thought I'd slalom racing again. Bulky too for telling me about it in 2002 at ASR.

My NorCal training buds Ravitch, Drew, Norski and Bruce you were missed.

Here are some of the articles that came out in the local papers. "Safety mostly up to skaters at slalom world championships" and on Sunday "Female skaters hit the hill at slalom world championships"
