Back from Montana's Smith River

Craig the night before on the Missouri River after picking up our raft at CrossCurrents.

We got a little side tracked the first day of our adventure due to a fire in Montana not far from Camp Baker access site after driving through some blinding smoke to get to Baker the night before. A rancher came down to the river on our way to our first stop and recommended we go to the first camp and stay until we here from him as he was in contact with the Fire Department and that the they were stopping people from going further on the Smith past where we were planning on stopping. Spring wasn't used much since it is only 4.5 miles into the trip so the grass was tall the the Latrine not used much. All good for the first day but it made day 2 a 19 mile day to get back on track. We made due and had a great day anyway.

At Camp Baker getting ready the night before.

Where we were told about the fire.

Set up camp for the night.
