The La Costa Open was first held in 1975 and is the longest running skateboard race in the world. Continuing the La Costa Open legacy the 2012 Seismic US Open at Oceanside will take place July 14-15 in San Diego, California at the infamously steep Loretta Street venue. Top racers from around the world will compete in head-to-head hybrid and a highly technical tight slalom on Saturday – finishing with the 40mph giant slalom and slalom-cross events on Sunday. This event is an ISSA Main sanctioned event. It should be a pretty rockin time again this year with two days of high speed skateboard drag racing at Loretta Street in Oside. We are stoked to welcome some world-class heavy hitter racers like 2-time World Champ (2010/2011) & World Record Holder - Joe McLaren from Colorado, Louis Ricard from Quebec, Adam Schwippert from Vermont along with local legends Richy Carrasco, Dave Hackett, Chris Yandall, Lynn Kramer and Mike Maysey ... plus rumors of Jason "Racer X" Mitchell (Colorado) and Greg Fadell (DC) showing up all stealthy like too. We got La Costa legend Henry "Bad H" Hester on the mic all weekend and a host of "Hall of Fame" legends coming to hang out & make the scene.
